Michael "Mikemetic" Donovan

Mikemetic is a Richmond-based artist, activist, father, and relentless pursuer of Truth through knowledge. He is an Honorary Member of Alpha Psi Omega Theater and Dance Honor Society at University of Richmond and has the distinction of being the first Black male in the state of Virginia to serve as Board Chairperson for a charter school, Patrick Henry School of Science and Arts.

Within the RVA community he has been an integral part of the music and cultural arts communities for over two decades. He is a DJ on WRIR-Richmond Independent Radio and has founded a variety of different monthly music series including Afro Beta, The Renaissance, and Wax Museum. As an educator he currently serves as the Farm + Garden Education Manager for Richmond-based nonprofit Renew Richmond which uses urban agriculture and nutrition information to remediate food deserts throughout the Richmond region.
